A highly motivated medical student is needed to finish a yearlong fellowship in the Indiana University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s division of orthopaedic injury. The successful candidate will be working with eight orthopaedic surgeons, four full-time researchers, statisticians, and fellows in orthopaedic surgery to conduct high-quality research on orthopaedic injuries. This division is involved in a variety of research areas, including basic and translational science, retrospective clinical, prospective multicenter, randomized, controlled, multicenter studies, as well as prospective, single centre to prospective, prospective, randomized, controlled, multicenter studies. Fellows will play an important role in the execution of ongoing research projects and will also be given the chance to explore their own ideas. Regular meetings with faculty will help develop the fellow’s research acumen and serve as the beginning of life-long mentorship to develop orthopaedic surgeon-scientists.
