Three-dimensional reconstructions show that the femoral neck of patients with recurrent patella instabilities is curvilinear to the side.
The tibial tubeercle may need to be transferred in more severe cases of patella lateral entrance to ensure permanent stability. It may also be a better option than a deepening trocleoplasty that alters the articular articular and is shown to cause arthritis after 15 years by Rouanet.
