Nathan and Jennie decided to adopt their first child from the very beginning of their relationship.
Nathan’s journey has been deeply personal. Nathan was adopted from South Korea when he was 2 1/2 years old. He understood how adoption is an intricate mosaic of broken relationships and restored hope, deep scars and profound recovery.
Jennie shares—

Initially, when Nathan and Jennie left for Ghana, they believed they’d be gone for a total of six weeks. Upon arrival, Nathan and Jennie were surprised to learn that it would take them five months before they could adopt their son, Isaiah. They had no idea that their trip home would be even longer.
Still, they did the necessary.
They worked part-time remotely from a small apartment they rented in Ghana. They were short of money and missed their three kids back home.
