Conversation and activity filled the room. Around tables, eight Strong Families played games, talked, and ate together. The day was set aside to honor the fathers in the program and their commitment to caring for their family.
“Events like this are multifaceted,” shared Matt Metzger, Back2Back staff. “We want to create an environment for families to have a fun/positive experience interacting with each other and to be encouraged. It is also an opportunity to move toward discipleship opportunities like small groups, Bible studies, and one-on-one mentoring.”
Strong Families staff members, ministry partners, interns and ten visiting groups all worked together to make sure the event was a success. The visiting mission team brought a variety of small gifts for the families to choose from to give their partners a gift for Father’s Day. The mission team also provided childcare, face-painting, and games, while the parents received encouragement in a separate session.
Families and staff alike enjoyed a successful day. The day was a success for the staff and families involved.
