Published results show that using preoperative planning (such as CT scans and 3D planning) prior to shoulder arthroplasty does not reduce the risk for aseptic revision.
Researchers from Kaiser Permanente’s Medical Device Surveillance and Assessment group in San Diego conducted a retrospective cohort of 8,117 anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (or reverse total shoulder) procedures performed on 7,372 patients between 2015 and 2020.
Researchers compared 90-day complications and aseptic revision among patients who received preoperative technology such as CT scans.
