A deep-learning model is used to provide mobile assessment for adolescents with idiopathic spine scoliosis

A published study showed that a deep learning app based on smartphone apps could diagnose and monitor adolescents with idiopathic spine scoliosis without additional radiation at minimal costs.
AlignProCARE (Aimed) is an app-based spinal evaluation platform that uses a validated, deep neural network model to assess adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) from smartphone photographs of patients’ backs. Researchers performed a blinded comparison of two spine surgeons’ results and the diagnostic study on 2,158 patients who had AIS to determine the effectiveness of the AlignProCARE app.
