Public results revealed that patients who had received home healthcare services following total hip arthroplasty had higher rates of readmission, higher costs and similar complications than patients who were discharged using self-care.
Sean B. Sequeira, MD and colleagues retrospectively reviewed data for a cohort comprising 7,243 patients who received THA home health services and a propensity-score-matched cohort of 72.430 patients who were discharged from home with self-care between 2010 and 2019. The study’s outcome measures were readmissions, costs of care, and early discharges.
