The Cortez Garcias had their hands full. Their foster daughter was just 40 days old when they met her. She became an active child, who loves to go shopping, attend church and explore new places. They’ve built strong relationships and found that the connections have helped them love their little girl even through the tantrums and accidents typical of a 2-year-old. They were feeling the bonds of being a family of three when they received a call from the Attorney General’s Office.
“They had been given a two-year old boy who was in crisis,” the family shared. “Because of the circumstances with which they received him, they knew institutionalized care would not be best for his development and instead wished to place him with a foster family; this is where we came in.”
The couple stayed busy with their little girl but welcomed the boy with open heart and arms. As they did with their daughter, the couple showed affection and understanding to both children, who quickly became friends and partners in crime.
