The goal of Show Hope’s Student Initiatives program is to educate and mobilize students. We have witnessed, from the beginning story of Show Hope to the various student programs over the years the power and potential of students when they come together to make a difference. Youth groups in the church are a great way to get students involved in adoption advocacy and orphan care. The reality is that church staff members are busy, volunteers are stretched thin, and the curriculum is well-planned. You might be wondering what this means for you. How can my youth group get involved in orphanage care?

To answer the “how to” of getting a youth group involved, we must first address the “Why.” When we understand more clearly why we should be involved, we’re in a better position to take action. These are the reasons youth groups should get involved with orphanage care.

1. To follow God’s Word

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world”(James 1:27).
