The eyes of the nation will be on Texas this week as a federal judge from Texas is expected to rule on whether the abortion pill, mifepristone, can remain on the market. Mifepristone, which is half of a 2-pill regimen, accounts for more that half of all abortions in the United States.
Novo Nordisk is another big drug company that dominates the diabetes treatment market. It has now announced that it will reduce the price of some of its insulin products. Eli Lilly made the announcements early in the month. However, activists and members in Congress are not the only ones pushing for affordable insulin. Because of the peculiarities in the drug market, cutting prices could actually help companies save money.
