Larger femoral heads may reduce risk of revision THA vs. smaller heads

According to published findings, using larger 32-mm and36-mm femoral femoral heads is associated with a significant reduction in the risk of revision total hip replacement due to all-cause compared with smaller 28 mm heads.
Researchers conducted a retrospective single-center analysis of data collected from 10,104 THA primary procedures from 2003 through 2019 (mean age of patient 69 years), with a follow-up period of six years. According to the study 3,295 (32.6%) THAs were done with 28-mm-heads; 4,858 (48.1%) THAs with 32mm-heads; and 1,951 (18.3%), THAs with 36mm-heads. Outcome measurements
