Brittany, Shawn, and Brittany compare the blessings of adopting to the ripples of water thrown into a lake.
Their son Arvin, an Indian adopted child, was the beginning of it all. But, through each stage, the adoption journey continued. God did more than anyone could imagine or ask.
Because of their obedience to God’s call to adopt, Shawn and Brittany also:
- Witnessed the generosity of their community.
- God moved mountains to bring their son home,
- Used a new skill set to help children with disabilities in their church
The generosity of their community provided them with the motivation they needed to continue moving forward.

“We remember the day we got the call for our matching grant. We were stunned at the generosity of Lifesong’s donors and Lifesong. We were supported by our friends who made sure that the matching grant was granted within weeks. To have that support doubled meant the world to us as we assessed our adoption budget.”
They also used educational adoption resources and clung to real-life stories from other adoptive families, which further fueled their perseverance.
After being funded, Shawn & Brittany flew to India together with their hearts.
