Patrick and a friend completed an art project together in school.

By the time Patrick* turned 10 years old,

He had been abandoned, rejected and mistreated his mother, father and two aunts. More than one time, he had been told to leave.

Patrick had fled from guardian after guardian before a neighbor welcomed him into her home. She also encouraged Patrick to go to church with them.

Patrick was also asked to leave his mother’s home. Patrick was abandoned for the fifth and final time in his lifetime. He felt vulnerable, alone, frightened, and helpless.

Due to his church connection,

Patrick asked for assistance from our team in Uganda. Patrick was only carrying the shirt off his back and needed food and a place to sleep.

What he didn’t realize is that ever since he started coming to church many months ago, God had led our team to believe Patrick was there for a reason.

Michelle, a ministry leader in Uganda, shared—

“For months before bringing him into our program, I felt the Lord telling me that Patrick needed to be in our program and that God had brought him into our lives for a reason.”
