Why It’s Important for an Organization to Remain True to Its Mission

Show Hope, an international charity, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Orphans can be cared for by engaging with the church and reducing barriers in adoption. You can imagine that we have faced many challenges and seen many changes in the adoption landscape over the last two decades. When Show Hope was launched and founded in 1990, intercountry (or international) adoptions were at their peak. The U.S. issued more than 22,000 visas. Citizenship and Immigration Services. In addition, the adoption laws and regulations as well as countries that are open to adoption has also evolved over our 20 year history. The impact of early relational and behavioral traumas on children was not fully understood in 2003. Before we address the importance of remaining true to your organization’s mission, though, it might be helpful to better understand just how Show Hope has grown through these changes and challenges all the while remaining true to our mission.
