KOLOA, Hawaii — Patient activity after total joint arthroplasty can be highly variable and depends more on the patient than the surgery, according to a presenter here.
Thomas P. Schmalzried MD presented at Orthopedics today Hawaii. He noted that previous studies have shown that older patients are more active than those who are younger and that BMI might be more predictive than age.
