According to the results presented, arthroscopic repair of massive tears in the rotator-cuff improved range of motion, patient satisfaction, and active range of movement. However, collagen patch augmentation did not improve healing.
Samer S. Hazan, MD, PhD presented his results at the International Congress on Shoulder and Elbow Surgery on early clinical and radiographic results following repair of massive rotator tears with or without collagen patch augmentation.
Hasan and his colleagues analysed data from 24 patients who had undergone arthroscopic surgery (mean age 60.8).
