How vulnerable is our understanding of the reverse total shoulder replacement?

Level I randomized trials tend to be the most trustworthy because they take into account variables that are often overlooked in case studies compared with each other, and even devices like propensity match.

There have been reports of Level I randomized trials that examine important aspects of reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Below are some recent examples:

Results of a prospective, randomized study show that inferior tilt of the glenoid does not reduce scapular notching after reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

Results of primary reversed shoulder arthroplasty, with and without subscapularis reconstruction: A prospective randomized trial.

Reverse Shoulder arthroplasty is superior to Plate Fixation for Displaced Proximal Humble Fractures at 2 Years: A Multicenter Controlled Randomized Trial.

Can a functional difference be detected in reverse arthroplasty with 135° versus 155° prosthesis for the treatment of rotator cuff arthropathy: a prospective randomized study.

A prospective randomized comparison of the performance of lateralized shoulder arthroplasty versus nonlateralized shoulder arthroplasty

Early rehabilitation versus immobilization following reverse total shoulder arthroplasty: A randomized, single-blinded study
