Idichakka Thoran is a healthy vegetable high in fiber that is a South Indian specialty. The young fruit is called “Polos” in Sri Lanka, and ‘Idichakka” in Kerala and “Panasa Pottu Koora” in Andhra. After shaving off the skin, the edible part of unripe jackfruit can be chopped and cooked. Young jackfruit is mild in flavour and texture, and tastes great when combined with coconut and green chillies.
