Results published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery found patients who underwent anatomic total or reverse shoulder arthroplasty had “significant and rapid” improvements in sleep disturbance after surgery.
Researchers carried out a retrospective analysis on patients who reported sleeping problems prior to shoulder arthroplasty procedures between 2012-2021. The study included 472 patients with RSA and 517 patients with TSA.
According to the research, outcome measures include a sleep questionnaire and VAS scores for pain.
