A study finds that the patellofemoral joint forces are different after ACL surgery

The published results show that patients who have undergone ACL reconstruction and returned to sports clearance afterward still display low contact forces between the patellofemoral joints during side-step cuts.
Researchers conducted a controlled lab study on 26 males (mean of 23.2 years old) who had undergone ACL reconstruction, and were cleared to return to sports. They also studied a control group of 22 males (mean of 28.3 year). Participants in the study performed side-step cutting exercises while researchers analysed joint kinematics and muscle forces.
