NEW ORLEANS — In this video, Brian J. Cole, MD, MBA, FAANA, discusses the possible use of autologous tissue for orthobiologic surgery.
Cole said that using the biceps tendons or bursas as biologic adjuncts can help improve the quality of rotatorcuff repairs. The bone marrow-aspirate concentrate could be used to manage osteochondral graft transplantation and ACL reconstructions with bone-tendonbone-allograft. Cole noted that adipose tissues can be used to augment rotator-cuff repairs or osteoarthritis. He also said that there may be an available supply.
