
One morning in Guatemala.
As one of the Village of Hope’s houseparents was lying in her bed, she heard someone close by.
One of the boys she cared for had only arrived a couple months before.
In the still of the morning, she heard him whispering, “There she is, there she is.”
With a tired smile, she responded—
“Yes, I am here.”
The little boy smiled when he heard her voice and went back into sleep.
Like many of us this sweet child wanted to be sure he wasn’t forgotten or alone. He could finally sleep peacefully in the presence someone who cared and loved him. He was secure.
God repeatedly reminds us throughout the Scriptures that He is with us and we do not need to be afraid.
Isaiah 41:10 reads—
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
The fact that we are not alone in our struggles and God is in complete control of all situations comforts us.
